This weekend’s unfortunate adventure at SXSW might be the event that forces me to borrow Andrew Keen’s “The Cult of the Amateur.” For those fortunate few who may have missed the story, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerburg participated in an on-stage interview this last Sunday with Sarah Lacy, an author, 11 years ago before the Big 10 implemented a conference tournament; most of the coaches were against it. Today, if the Bucks didn’t have another game before NCAA Selection Sunday, they would most likely be in the tournament. When you were a kid, you didn’t get the jokes but liked the pictures and assumed one day you’d get the jokes. Well you’re all grown up and the jokes still make no sense. That’s because most comic strips SUCK. Don’t be fooled. Book I was good, but Book II represents the meaty war years in the North and South Trilogy. Good stuff. Watching this really makes me miss the miniseries as event programming. Good thing HBO is keeping the dream alive with “John Adams” which will premier this Sunday. Revolutionary War + Paul Giamatti = Awesome. I cannot wait. Medicine For Melancholy is both written and directed by budding filmmaker Barry Jenkins, who has only previously directed two short films. This will premiere at the SXSW Film Festival with the first showing on Sunday, March 9th at 2:30PM. On Sunday I received a call from our Realty Agent, who was helping us acquire a piece of property on Hard Scrabble creek. He told me that the property was being pursued by a lumber company. This kicked its priority into high gear… This didn’t make many headlines today…Fallujah, Iraq, once a terrorist haven, held its first fun run on Sunday.
