In a recent article, Erik Sofge of Slate Magazine took the opportunity to cut down all the positive press and memorials that Mr. Gygax has received since his death last week. In an out-and-out slanderous article, Sofge calls DnD a “reprehensible moral universe”. So-called Political Correctness has sullied the world’s minds on some of the most important issues of our time. The energy spent by opposing campaigns and their surrogates on sullying each other is enough to sour a voter on the entire process. With the countless real issues facing the country, I struggle to see the merit in these frequently manufactured dust-ups. It’s nowhere near 3:00 AM…but my ears are ringing from the endless cacophony. Clout in the 21st century Democrats may fear that a prolonged battle can only hurt the party’s chances in November. That need not be the case, but much will depend on the performance of the candidates. A good fair fight will test and steel both Clinton and Obama, making either one a stronger candidate. An ugly barrage of attacks will sully both. The Internet giant’s stock plunges 40% since hitting a record $741.79 in November. Bailout is a dirty word in the nation’s capital. Lately, efforts by both Democrats and Republicans to clean up the housing mess are getting sullied with the b-word. As random as they are relevant, enigmatic as they are enlightening, search engines have earned a slightly sullied reputation as a necessary evil. But it is a one-sided assessment. The search engines have not been able to explain themselves. Until now. Up from the terrifying depths of 4chan comes this terrific Professor Layton desktop. No don’t worry, I didn’t sully my hands raking through the 4chan muck. Thankfully the BBPS’ Dan Zuccarelli has done all the work so all we have to do is enjoy it. Thanks Dan!
